NEW DELHI, July 27: Copper futures traded 0.24 per cent lower at Rs 339.45 today as speculators reduced their positions after the metal slumped to six-year lows in overseas markets.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August fell 80 paise, or 0.24 per cent at Rs 339.45 per kg, in a business turnover of 869 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month November was down 70 paise, or 0.20 per cent at Rs 346.30 per kg in 17 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to weak global cues on concern over China’s slowing economy that will hit the demand for commodities in the biggest consumer. (PTI)
