NEW DELHI, Apr 7: Copper futures prices today fell 0.14 per cent to Rs 405.45 per kg, as speculators reduced positions in line with a weak trend in the global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June declined by 55 paise, or 0.14 per cent, to Rs 405.45 per kg in business turnover of 178 lots.
Metal for delivery in April fell by 40 paise or 0.10 per cent, to Rs 400.70 per kg in a business volume of 3,677 lots.
Analysts said weakening trend in the global markets after US jobs data added to signs of slowing growth in the world’s second-biggest user amid increasing mine supplies, mainly put pressure on copper prices at futures trade here.
Meanwhile, gold for delivery in three months contracts fell 0.60 per cent to USD 6,577.50 per tonne, the lowest intra-day level since March 28, at the London Metal Exchange. (PTI)
