Cop martyred in Srinagar attack

Jammu, May 7: A policeman who was injured in a militant attack succumbed to injuries at SKIMS hospital here this evening.
The policeman in civvies was critically injured this morning after militants fired upon him near Aiwa Bridge in Zonimar area on Dr Ali Jan road in Srinagar.
The cop, identified as Ghulam Hassan Dar son of Ghulam Rasool Dar of Danwar Eidgah, was travelling on his motorcycle when militants fired upon him this morning, leaving him critically injured.

The policeman, driver with J&K Police vehicle, was shifted to nearby SKIMS hospital. He succumbed to injuries this evening.
Earlier soon after the attack, the area was cordoned off and searches launched to nab the attackers.
