JAMMU, Feb 3: In mysterious circumstances a cop of J&K police was today found dead at village Dori in Akhnoor tehsil.
According to a police spokesman, the body of the cop identified as Constable Ajeet Kumar (24) son of Bishan Dass, a resident of village Dori (Akhnor) was found in a secluded place near his village, late this morning. He said there was no injury mark on the body of the deceased.
The spokesman said that the body of the deceased was shifted to Government Hospital, Chowki Choura, where after conducting post mortem, it was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
“A case in this regard has been registered at police station Akhnoor, where police has started inquest proceedings under section 174CrPc”, he said adding the deceased Constable was posted at police station Katra in Reasi district and was on three-day casual leave with effect from January 29.
