RAJOURI/ POONCH, July 1: A police constable was killed in a car-tipper accident near Rajouri while six people sustained injuries in two separate road accidents in mendhar area of Poonch district today.
Official sources said that a police constable of Crime Brach, posted in Jammu was seriously injured after his Alto Car No. JK02BD/ 0078, collided with a Tipper near Dalogra on Jammu-Rajouri highway at around 9.45 pm last night. The cop was on way to his village in Rajouri from Jammu.
While the driver of the Tipper No. JK-11/2429 escaped from the spot after mishap, the injured cop was later shifted to District Hospital Rajouri by local police. He succumbed to inujuries during early hours today. The police seized tripper and registered a case against the absconding driver. The police identified the deceased as, Arif Iqbal (31), son of Munawar Iqbal, resident of Rattal near Choudhary Nad village in Rajouri.
Another report from Mendhar in district Poonch said that driver of an Alto car No. JK12B-2360, lost control over vehicle and it skidded off the road and fell into road side fields. Four persons on board were injured and rushed to Mendhar hospital.
They were identified as Shahid Farooq, son of Mohammd Farooq and Ifroz Javed, son of Mohammd Javed- both residents of Balnoi village; Fazal Hussain, son of Mir Mohammad and Mohammd Zubir, son of Mohmaad Bashir- both residents of Ghani village. They were shifted to SDH Mendhar.
Medical officer SDH Mendhar, SA Khan, said that two injured were later referred to GMC Rajouri. He said another Tata Mobile vehicle met with an accident in Krishna Ghati area today in which two persons were injured and shifted to SDH Mendhar. Police has taken cognizance of the matter.
