JAMMU, Feb 6: A delegation of contractual teachers from the State who were appointed for academic arrangements last year demanded that their services be continued in view of their merit and talent.
These teachers met the senior BJP and PDP leaders and Legislators here and submitted the memorandums to them seeking justice. They, while seeking their intervention also demanded that the new government should absorb these contractual youth as RETs on their merit and talent as thousands of posts of teachers are lying vacant in the State.
However senior BJP leaders including Ashok Kaul MLA Sat Sharma and Bali Bhagat whom they met said that they have been appointed just for politics gains by previous coalition which had no vision and policy.
They assured them that new government will initiate a concrete employment policy so that the educated youth do not feel cheated in future.
