DODA, Apr 4: The contractual paramedical of staff selected under SRO-24 and associated with Government Medical College today held protest against the Government to project their demands.
Carrying placards in their hands and raising slogans in favour of their demands, the contractual paramedical staff assembled in front of GMC Doda. The protestors were demanding the extension of their services.
While talking to media persons, the protesters said that they were engaged as contractual workers with extension of 6 years.
“On the one hand, the Government is appointing the retired doctors to make the health services better in the Union Territory and on the other hand is terminating the contractual paramedical workers. The decision of termination will effect the health services in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir especially in far flung areas”, the protestors said.
With a warning to intensify their protest, the protesting contractual paramedical workers demand extension of their services viz their absorption in the Health Department on permanent basis.
