JAMMU, June 23: Extremely agitated over no response of the State Government on their demand of regularization despite continuous hunger strike for the last 130 days, the protesting Contractual Lecturers (10+2) today took out a ‘funeral procession’ of the State Government.
Amidst raising of slogans against the State Government, the protesting Contractual Lecturers marched from Press Club Jammu to Jewel Chowk in the form of a funeral procession. They were carrying a symbolic coffin and effigy of the State Government. On reaching near Jewel Chowk, the effigy of State Government was torched.

While addressing the protesters, Arun Bakhshi, State president of the Contractual Lecturers (10+2) Association, said that they were now feeling harassed and fed up with false assurance of the State Government. He warned that the Contractual Lecturers would be left with no option other than to resort to extreme step and the State Government would be solely responsible for the consequences.
Zabir Hussain Shah said that they were not demanding anything non-genuine but their due right of regularization as per Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010.
Earlier, in the morning, Sulinder Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Rajni Sharma and Seema Sharma began their chain hunger strike replacing the previous batch.
