Srinagar, June 6: The Contractors’ Association Tangmarg today demanded registration of an FIR against a bidder after a fake CDR submitted for a Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department tender led to the bidder’s disqualification and cancellation of the tender.
Speaking to reporters, Association president Ehsan-ul-Haq alleged that the association had raised objections over the CDR and pursued the matter through legal channels before its authenticity was verified.
“The CDR carried a stamp of a branch in Beerwah, but verification revealed that it did not belong to that branch,” Haq alleged.
He said the Association had urged the department to allot the work to a contractor who had submitted all required documents correctly and sought strict action against those involved in submitting forged documents.
“We want an FIR to be lodged against the person for fraud. Such contractors should be booked under the law,” Haq said.
The tender pertained to a project at Hardbani, Kunzer, in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and was issued under Notice Inviting Tender (NIT) No. 4 of 2026-27 by the Executive Engineer, R&B Division Tangmarg, on April 20, 2026.
According to officials, the tender attracted four participants.
After the bids were evaluated, a contractor from Guloora emerged as the successful bidder and was asked to furnish the requisite documents and securities mandated under the tender conditions.
During scrutiny of the documents, the department referred the submitted CDR to the concerned bank for authentication.
Following verification, the department found the document to be invalid and initiated action against the bidder.
