JAMMU, June 5: All Jammu and Kashmir Stone Crushers Association (AJKSCA) has said that decision of Assembly Speaker to constitute committee to look into SRO-105 is a move in right direction.
Addressing a press conference here today, Association member Uttam Singh alleged that SRO issued during Governor’s Rule on March 31, imposes blanket ban on any sort of mining. He said it will give flip to mafia who would control the entire mining business.
“There is a provision that only those can participate in auction whose annual turnover is Rs 2 crore. It is against the interests of the common man as prices of building material will rise”, Singh claimed.
Association further alleged that SRO had imposed a blanket ban on any sort of mining from anywhere which will bring Stone Crusher Industry to a grinding halt. “We welcome the constitution of the committee and it should look into all the issues related to the SRO and make suitable recommendations”, the members demanded.
Not only stone crusher industry, but the entire associated businesses, particularly constructions have been affected, Mr Singh said.
Those who were fully dependent on this industry for their livelihood have been left jobless and their families are forced to suffer. He urged upon the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Industries and Commerce to intervene and direct to the concerned authorities to immediately revoke this anti industry SRO.
Manzoor Ahmed, Ramesh Chander Kapoor, Sunil Choudhary, Bharat Singh, Sanjay Raina and Radhey Shayam Khajuria were also present.
