Congress team tours remote areas of Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, June 18: To interact with people in remote area for highlighting  their grievances and demands, a team of senior Congress leaders conducted two-day tour of  far flung areas of Udhampur district.
Led by District president Ashok Gupta and comprising  of Krishan Bhagat (ex MLA), PCC secretary Vijay Manhas,  Ashok Bakshi,  Vinod Khajuria and  Om Parkash (block president Majalta) , the team visited Dudu, Jakhed , Chappar,  Latti and Maroothi of  Chennani constituency where a series of public meetings were held.
While addressing the  party workers, Ashok Gupta urged the administration to immediately provide doctors at Dudu and Latti hospitals. He said that for the last 2 years no MBBS doctor has been posted there  with the result people of this hilly terrain were  suffering badly for want of proper medical facilities.
He further said that students were  facing much difficulty because of  shortage of teaching staff in  the Government schools,   particularly high school Dudu and high school Marothi.
Ex MLA Krishan Chander Bhagat, while addressing,  alleged that no development works was  going on in this area while the concerned BDO was unavailable to public. He further said that the road condition was worst and it was  not possible to shift a patient smoothly from there  to distract hospital Udhampur.
The Congress leaders assured the people to highlight their grievances before the concerned authorities  and get the same addressed.
