SAMBA, Sept 22: Pradesh Congress Seva Dal has demanded the Government to shift the under construction toll plaza between Patli Morh and Sarore Adda on NH1 at Purmandal Morh or some other place.
Addressing a press conference today at Vijaypur, Raj Kumar Bhagat, District president of Pradesh Congress Sewa Dal, Samba, slammed the Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari for issuance of contract of toll plaza in Samba district without adopting the due course of procedure laid down for Toll Plazas.
He said in the year 2013-14, the toll plaza was being installed at Sarore Adda and then the workers of BJP had opposed the same and now they are mum as BJP Government is in centre and J&K UT is under Governor rule. Bhagat said a few months ago there was a rumor that toll plaza is to be constructed at Thandi Khui but now the construction work of toll plaza is in progress between Patli Morh and Sarore Adda on NH1.
Bhagat questioned the NH1 authorities whether there is a provision that toll plaza can be installed at any place on NH1. Ruthlessly, he said that even the NH1 is not completed and the NH authority is not providing services as per norms. He further told that Samba to Jammu is thick/dense traffic area and due to the huge traffic it becomes the accidental prone area but the NH1 authority has not taken the preventive steps.
He appealed a toll plaza in Kathua district is already in function which is about 50 Km from the proposed place. He urged the Government as well as NH1 authority to install the toll plaza at Kunjwani Chowk or Purmandal Morh or Jatwal keeping in the view the feasibility and accessibility of public in general otherwise the workers of Sewa Dal shall be compelled to launch agitation at large.
