Congress protests against Govt failure on Kashmir situation

UDHAMPUR, July 20:  District Congress Committee Udhampur today held a strong protest demonstration against the Government to express resentment over the prevailing situation in the Kashmir valley.
A large number of Congress activists and workers,  led by  Ashok Gupta, President District Congress Committee Udhampur and  Krishan  Chander Bhagat  (Ex-MLA), assembled in front of District Congress headquarters, Dhar road and held a demonstration while carrying placards and raising slogans.
The protesting Congressmen also tried to take out a march towards the office of Deputy Commissioner but police foiled the attempt.
Speaking on the occasion Krishan Chander Bhagat held the Centre and State Governments responsible for the present situation. He also criticized the Government for its failure in providing fool proof security to the Amarnath Yatris.
Ashok Gupta, in his address, appealed people not to fall in the trap of anti-national forces and maintain communal harmony with traditional brotherhood at all costs.
Prominent among those who attended the protest, included  Vijay Manhas, Ashok Bakshi, Surinder Khajuria, Manav Upadhaya, Om Parkash (block president Majalta),  Mohan Lal Kalsotra, Yash Pal Sharma, Suram Chand, Suresh Khajuria, Dwarka Prakash, Kartar Singh-Lamberdar, Inyatullah Meeni, Ramesh Chander, Girdhari Lal and others.
