JAMMU, Mar 22: Terming Congress led UPA Government as the most corrupt and inefficient Government the country experienced since independence, State president and Jammu Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF) candidate for Doda-Udhampur Parliamentary constituency Anil Gupta said Congress during its rule of ten years has brought disrepute to this country by indulging into corrupt practices and scandals.
The highest ever graph of inflation rate is the only achievement it had made from the past ten years. Congress with its ally partner NC in J&K has made the life of people miserable by imposing taxes on basic amenities of life as also used State machinery and exchequer for their vested interests only to further weaken the economic structure of the State, which otherwise is dependent on Central funds even to meet the salary expenses of its employees.
Commenting upon the counter allegations made against each other by PDP and NC, Gupta said these parties are deliberately touching the sensitive issues only to gain political mileage which otherwise is bound to generate much heat than to heal the wounds of the people.
These parties for the sake of vote bank are promoting the separatist agenda and are further de-alienating the people from the main stream, Gupta alleged.
Holding public meetings at Kathua and Mehtabgarh in Basohli Assembly segment during the election campaign, Anil Gupta cautioned people about the designs of these parties.
Terming these parties opportunistic, he said these parties along with Congress have entered into political marriage whenever it suits to them, whereas BJP, pretending to be the nationalist party has no reservation on joining hands with such forces.
Earlier, an election office was inaugurated by JKDF at Reasi in presence of former Union Minister and MLA Prof Chaman Lal Gupta and locals.
