Congress Councillors demand general house meeting of JMC

JAMMU, Oct 30: Congress Councillors of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) here today demanded a general house meeting of the local body to discuss public issues.

In a press conference Congress Chief Whip in JMC House, Dwarka Chowdhary said seven months have passed and no meeting of JMC general house has taken place while as per rules the general house meeting should be organized once a month.
He also said that public issues have intensified in this period but none is paying any heed towards these.
Other Congress Councillors told reporters that Department of Floriculture and PHE are not functioning properly.
“There is acute shortage of staff in Floriculture Department due to which the parks of Jammu are not being properly maintained,” they maintained adding that the PHE Department has no buffer stock of motors and transformers due to which problem of water shortage arises whenever some motor at pumping station gets damaged.
Other Councillor present in the press conference were Ch. Sobat Ali, Rajinder Singh Jamwal, Bhanu Mahajan, Pritam Singh, Rashpal Bhardwaj, Mohiudin Chowdhary and Rama Devi.
