Congmen raise issues in BCC level meet

UDHAMPUR, Sept 12: Long power curtailments, irregular supply of water, poor condition of roads, inadequate supply of food grains, kerosene oil and non-availability of teachers were the major demands projected by several Congress leaders during block level meeting held here today.
In the meeting BCC president Pancheri Rasal Singh, Basantgarh Block president Mushtaq Ahmed Wani, Chenani Block president Jaswant Singh, Ghordi Block president Des Raj Prashar and Udhampur block president, Vijay Manhas strongly projected the burning issues of the people. A large number of BCC office bearers and other Congress workers also participated.
While addressing gathering these leaders alleged that District administration was not serious in resolving the problems of the people. They said people are suffering due to long power curtailments, shortage of food grains, poor water supply besides shortage of teachers in Pancheri and Basantgarh areas. It was also urged upon the authorities to improve condition of Gordi-Barmeen, Chenani –Patangarh, Pancheri-Landhar and Ramnagar-Majori- Basantgarh roads.
BCC chief Basantgarh Mr Wani lauded the efforts of former Dy Chairman Legislative Council Arvinder Singh Micky for providing funds for ambulance at CMC Chenani and Basantgarh hospital. He said the fund were released by the DC but the ambulances were shifted to somewhere else. He demanded that vacant posts of lecturers and teachers be filled up at Basantgarh Higher Secondary School.
