AKHNOOR, June 7:  Congress workers protested against inflation and unemployment in the country by holding a protest rally against the Central Government, at Khour Assembly constituency, here today.
A number of Congress workers participated in the protest, which was led by Khour constituency in-charge Mangal Baral. The rally passed through various markets and intersections.
Mangal Baral, along with other senior Congress leaders and workers raised slogans against the increase in petrol and diesel prices. They also raised slogans against the Modi Government.
While addressing the gathering, Mangal Baral strongly criticized the BJP Government at the Centre for the fuel price hike. He said that the people of the country are already suffering from the impact of inflation and increases in fuel prices will further exacerbate the inflation.
“The Central Government lacks effective measures to curb this. Unemployment in the country is at its peak and there is considerable anger among unemployed youth,” he said.
Akhnoor in-charge Kuldeep Sharma said the Central Government has not lived up to the expectations of the people of the country.
Prominent leaders such as Romesh Verma (State Coordinator, OBC Department), Ashok Sharma (former Chairman, Municipality, Khour), and Kuldeep Sharma (In-charge, Akhnoor Constituency) and others attended the protest.
