Cong workers hold peaceful protests against price hike

JAMMU, Nov 19: Congress party today held peaceful protests and submitted memorandum to the administration at various districts in Jammu province today against the unprecedented price hike, rising unemployment and overall economic crisis in the country.
Led by senior leaders and respective District presidents of the party, the Congress leaders and workers raised their voice against the economic policies of the BJP Govt at the Centre as a result the economy of the country is going from bad to worse and the common man is suffering a lot. The unprecedented price rise of all essential commodities, additional taxations of excise duty, toll tax and road tax apart from flawed GST and steps like demonetization have cost heavily to the poor and common man in the country and there are no jobs for youth in the country.
The peaceful programmes were held and memoranda were submitted in different districts including in District Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, Ramban, Rajouri and Kishtwar.
At Kathua, the protest was led by former minister and DCC president Dr Manohar Lal Sharma besides GL Chalotra (Ex-MLA), Subash Gupta (Ex-MLC), Devinder Singh Bindu, Aradhana Andotra and Nirdosh Sharma.
At Ramban the protest was led by DCC president Farooq Katoch, Arun Singh Raju Advocate, Farooq Choudhary, Tariq Saleem and memorandum was submitted the District Administration.
In Udhampur, after paying rich tributes to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, a peaceful protest march was taken out from Adarash Colony via Slathia Chowk to DC Office and memorandum was submitted under the leadership of DCC president Krishan Bhagat Ex-MLA and senior leader Brij Mohan Sharma and others.
At Doda, the memorandum was submitted by Congress workers and leaders led by DCC president Sheikh Mujeeb Ali, Satish Kotwal, Ashraf Malik and Waseem Ahmed.
At Rajouri also, after paying rich tributes to Indira Gandhi under the leadership of former minister and DCC president Shabir Ahmed Khan, a memorandum on the economic situation was submitted to the District Administration under the leadership of Block president Rajouri Bal Krishan Sharma.
In Samba district similar memorandum was submitted to the SDM Vijaypur under the leadership of former minister and DCC president S. Manjit Singh. In Kishtwar, the Congress workers led by DCC president, Mohinder Singh Parihar, besides PL Shan, Firdous Mingnoo, Randeep Bhandari, Abdul Latif and others took out protest march. On November 23, a massive protest demonstration will be held in Jammu.
