JAMMU, Nov 19: A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), met Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan here today.
The delegation led by Ravinder Raina, comprising of former Minister, Shakti Parihar and other party functionaries put forth range of public importance issues including construction of Border bunkers and strengthening of VDCs.
Lt. Governor urged them to continue their sustained endeavours for promoting public welfare.
Pramod Jain, Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir State Water Resources Regulatory Authority (JKSWRRA) also met Lieutenant Governor apprised him about the steps taken by the Authority for the efficient management of the water resources of J&K.
Lt. Governor stressed the need for ensuring judicious, equitable and sustainable management, allocation and utilization of water resources and the need to generate public awareness in this regard.
Prof. Nazeer Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) also met Lieutenant Governor and apprised him about various issues of academic and administrative importance relating to the Main and Off-site campuses and status of filling up of vacant posts of staff.
Lt. Governor emphasised high importance of continuous up gradation of teaching methods and achieving tangible outcomes in all the research areas.
