KOKERNAG, Sept 27: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president, Vikar Rasool Wani today said that Congress Party will emerge stronger in coming days and defections by `some people’ won’t have impact on dedicated Congress workers.
Addressing a party convention at Kokernag in South Kashmir today PCC chief expressed confidence that Congress will emerge stronger in view of dedication and enthusiasm amongst the Party workers across J&K. He said many leaders have defected and deceived Congress Party after enjoying power from time to time. Their defections won’t have impact over the Party cadres. They (cadres) will move on and fight against the conspiracies being hatched against Party, he asserted.
Wani lashed out at BJP’s divisive politics blaming them it for dividing people on regional, caste and religious lines to serve the dirty political ends. People of J&K have always stood with harmony and secularism. They will continue to oppose any misadventure by BJP RSS. He urged Party workers to remain steadfast to serve people and highlight their problems, as that, it is the Congress Party alone which has served the people and it will continue to fight for safeguarding rights of people, Wani said.
“Congress Party shall continue to remain relevant, strong and unifying force, it will never compromise on its principle-based politics,” Wani averred.
Former PCC chief GA Mir said declaring holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh’s birth anniversary was a welcome step amounting to respecting the aspirations of the people. Congress party appreciates the decision wholeheartedly.
“BJP Govt cannot escape the responsibility of disrespecting Maharaja desires, decisions and laws passed by him in the interest of J&K citizens. State subject laws and Special Status granted to erstwhile J&K State should also be restored as that will be the real and great tribute to Maharaja Hari Singh,” Mir added.
Bhalla said that leadership has started working on a revival plan and the cadre is being revitalized to carry on the party’s political campaign with renewed vigour. He said that Congress is a movement that will surge back. He stated that people of Jammu and Kashmir are eagerly waiting for assembly elections and they will teach a lesson to BJP and definitely show this party its place.
Former MP and CWC Member Tariq Hameed Karra emphasized the Party workers to start mass contact with the people in their respective areas, constituencies and districts and enlighten them about the Congress Party’s pro people policies and programmes and seek their support in strengthening the party.
