JAMMU, June 28: Accusing Congress for present standoff with China, senior BJP leader and former State president of the party, Ashok Khajuria today said had the then Congress Government led by Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru showed the guts India would have not lost the Aksi Chin to China in 1962.
In a hard hitting statement issued here, today he asked the Congress leaders including the leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad to have an introspection that how China grabbed thousands sq kms of Indian land territory including Aksi Chin and why Congress party which ruled at Centre for over five decades could not settle the issue with China.
Khajuria said that instead of pointing fingers on BJP and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and accusing him of misleading the nation on Galwan issue, Congress should realise its historical blunders which has misled the nation for over five decades on border dispute with China. The former Prime Minister is on record to tell Parliament when he was asked about the annexation Indian territory by China after 1962 war that this was a barren and hilly land where even a single piece of grass does not grow so how the party leadership has launched a tirade against Modi Government under whose leadership Indian forces have not only given a befitting reply to China but made it clear to the Communist nation that if it dares to attack India, it would face worst consequences as it is not the India of 1962 now but of 2020.
Khajuria said that instead of siding with the nation Congress leadership was siding with China which has hurt the sentiments of people of this nation. He also accused Congress party of trying to demoralize the Indian forces who have taken positions against the hostile nations like China and Pakistan on borders.
He said in comparison to that BJP in opposition never opposed the Government when it faced any threat from a foreign country instead remained solidly behind it because for us nation is first.
