Cong protests against frequent Pak shelling, targets Modi Govt

SAMBA, Jan, 29: Congress today took to streets over frequent Pakistan shelling and failures of Modi Government to deal with neighboring country which is targeting Indian positions all along IB and LoC.

The dharna was held at Vijaypur in front of SDM Office, which was organized by PCC general secretary and former Minister S Manjit Singh and addressed by PCC chief  G.A Mir besides vice president Raman Bhalla, chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma, former ministers Gurbachan Rana, Raman Matoo, Swarn Lata- Ex-MLA, general secretary PCC  Shah Nawaz, All India NSUI secretary, Neeraj Kundan, S. Soba Singh, secretary PCC besides other local leaders from border belt.
The protestors drawn from border areas of Vijaypur raised slogans against Pakistan and for the worst ceasefire violations on the borders and LoC.
Addressing a gathering PCC, chief G.A Mir questioned Modi Government for its total failure on Pakistan front as the figures and   the situation all along borders and LoC during the present regime reflect total failure of the Centre and State Government. He said that Modi Ji would raise questions every now and then on the issue of some rare incidents on the borders with Pakistan but now when this has become a routine affair and the people all along borders are paying the price besides large number of Jawans martyred, he should explain BJP Government’s policy and road map to deal with the situation. The escalated tensions on the borders and LoC and causalities of the civilians and Jawans cannot be forgotten by just statements in the media by the Centre Government and Mehbooba Government in the State in this regard, when around four years out of five year tenure of Modi Government is almost over.
Raman Bhalla accused BJP of following a weak policy towards Pakistan which has frequently resorted to heavy border shellings and mischief’s during Modi regime. Our Jawans and Civilians have been facing the heavy casualties including Pakistan Army dishonouring the bodies of our soldiers, where is Modi Ji’s 56 inchs chest and his assurance to the nation that for one head of our jawan, he will get ten heads of Pakistani soldiers.
Bhalla said that there is no policy to provide adequate relief and compensation and rehabilitation plan for the people residing near borders. All their commitments have proved to be false and election “Jumlas”.
Earlier organizer of the protest S Manjeet Singh lashed out at the Centre and State government for doing nothing for the border people who are regular victims of Pakistan shelling leading to large number of casualties of human as well as cattle besides destruction of their houses, crops etc.
PCC chief spokesperson Ravinder Sharma spoke about the plight of border areas all along Rajouri-Poonch, Jammu, Samba and Kathua besides reminding the promises to the refugees and DPs of 1947, 1965 & 1971and demanded that BJP fulfill its commitments of Rs. 30 Lac per family.
