JAMMU, Oct 24: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) have slammed the Government for new retirement rules while terming them anti-employee.
Expressing serious concern over the anti-employee decision taken by the Government, the JKPCC president G A Mir said that such move will have far reaching consequences, being done to intimidate the employees of Jammu and Kashmir, which will not be tolerated.
Mir said such designs are being employed precisely to create fear psychosis among the people and terrify them in different ways aiming to curtail their genuine voice. The notification/SRO is bound to cause insecurity among the employees, Mir added and said it is obviously a tool to the Government and bureaucrats to suppress their juniors, besides causing uncertainty for them, while having the potential to exploit them (employees) by higher ups.
Describing the recent notification of J&K Government about premature retirement of Government employees as a politically motivated and cruel move to usurp basic rights of employees, PDF chairman Hakeem Yaseen demanded cancellation of the notification forth with. He said the move was draconian and against the interests of general employees.
He said the notification has become another cause of mental agony and depression among employees. “One fails to understand, why the Government is hell bent to victimize people of J&K, instead of providing healing touch to them to get some despite from miseries and hardships confronting them,” Yaseen said.
Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Joint Action Committee terms the notification on premature retirement derogatory and draconian law which is against the interests of the lakhs of Government employees working in JK UTs and an attempt to demoralize them.
Sagar requested the LG Administration to reconsider this amendment of the said SRO so that employees of JK UTs can work with mental ease. He also requested all trade union leaders/representatives to join hands together under one flag and fight against this undemocratic attitude of the Government.
