JAMMU, Sept 4: Congress activists led by Gurmeet Singh, president Beopar Mandal and District general secretary Congress Jammu East staged protest demonstration against the BJP Government here today.
The Congress Party has launched nationwide agitation against the wrong policies of the BJP led NDA Govt at the Centre. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi is fearlessly fighting for the cause of people against the oppressive policies of the Modi Govt.
While speaking on the occasion Singh criticized BJP Govt for plight of common man and unemployed youth as well. He claimed that Congress would continue to highlight the problems of the people. Gurmeet said Govt should pay at least Rs 6000 per month to poor families, small shopkeepers and unemployed so that they could feed their families.
He projected that BPL ration card holder families are getting ration at Rs 2.50 per kg but getting LPG gas cylinder at Rs 936 which is not at all tolerable by the poor people. He demanded that BJP Govt should provide LPG cylinder free of cost or on highly subsidised rates to the BPL and poor families. He also demanded release of kerosene oil quota in favour of poor/ BPL people which was being earlier issued on regular basis.
He launched scathing attack on BJP Govt for sharp hike in the prices of diesel and petrol besides domestic LPG cylinders. He said it has effected prices of all the commodities.
Prominent among those who accompanied included Hardavinder Singh, Manohar Joshi, Raj Kumar, Moti Lal, Vijay Sharma, Brij Mohan, Yash Sharma, Amarpreet Singh, Vijay Kumar, Apu Singh and others
