Cong holds workshop of social media coordinators

Jammu, Sept 20:   A one- day workshop of Social Media department of JKPCC was held here today at Congress headquarters, Shahidi Chowk here today.
National coordinator AICC Social Media Department, Vipan Yadav was the resource person, Sham Lal Sharma – senior vice president PCC was the chief guest, PCC chief spokesperson  Ravinder Sharma was the guest of honour while   Shah Nawaz Choudhary–PCC general secretary and coordinator social media J&K State presided over the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Sham Lal Sharma  highlighted the importance of social media in the present time when everything is so fast to understand and communicate to people at all levels. He appreciated the working of Pradesh Social Media Department and stressed the need to further strengthen it at the grass root level to counter the false propaganda of BJP and its alliance partners in the Govt.
Ravinder Sharma said that personal communication via social media brings politicians and parties closer to their potential voters and it allows them to communicate faster and reach citizens in a more targeted manner and vice versa. He said that the Modi led NDA Government has failed on all fronts and active only in social media which should be countered in a befitting manner, therefore, the strengthening of  social media department of PCC is the need of the hour and  extended his full support to the cell.
In his key note address Vipan Yadav said that social media in politics including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube has dramatically changed the way of campaigns. The prevalence of social media in politics has made elected officials and candidates for public office more accountable and accessible to voters. Keeping in view the urgency of social media, the AICC has constituted Social Media department in all states and Union territories to counter the false propaganda of our opposition parties.
In his closing remarks Shah Nawaz said that he was grateful to party high command for assigning him the duty of social media co-ordinator for J&K and assured that he will leave no stone unturned to strengthen Social Media Department of the party in Jammu and Kashmir.
