Attempts of liquor smuggling foiled

REASI, Sept 20: Police today foiled separate attempts of liquor smuggling and arrested two bootleggers.
A police party of PP Talwara, led by SI Tribhuvan Khajuria, incharge PP Talwara, laid a naka at Zero Morh Talwara. During checking, the police team succeeded in recovery of eight bottles of Himalya Rum, measuring 750/750 ml each, eight Poly Pouches measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise liquor, one bottle of Kashmir Rum measuring 375 ml, one bottle Kashmir Rum measuring 180 ml, one bottle of Whisky measuring 180 ml and one bottle of Orange Gin measuring 375 ml , from the possession of a passenger, identified as Jagan Nath of Angralla Mahore who was travelling in a passenger vehicle, on way from Reasi towards Mahore.
The accused person was arrested and recovered liquor was seized. A case FIR No. 196/2017 U/S 48-(a) J&K Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi
Meanwhile, a police team from PCP Moori, succeeded in recovery of 39 Poly Pouches measuring 250/250 ml each of J&K Excise liquor from the possession of Vikram Kumar of Kotli Charkan, Bishnah Jammu, who was on way towards Katra town.
The accused person was arrested and recovered liquor seized. A case FIR No. 171/2017 U/S 48-(a) J&K Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation of the case is in progress.
