Cong assails Govt for worsening COVID-19 situation in Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 5: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee chief, Ghulam Ahmed Mir in a meeting of District presidents of Congress of Jammu province discussed the problems of people including the worsening COVID situation and the failure of the Govt to provide required medical facilities to the people.
PCC chief expressed serious concern over the failure of UT Administration and Central Govt to create the required facilities during 6 months of ongoing COVID-19 situation to deal with the worsening situation. He said that the reports about shortage of oxygen as a result large number of ventilators are reportedly not functioning in Jammu hospitals which is a panic situation and reflects mismanagement and mishandling of the situation.
The party called for immediate necessary steps on war footing to augument the facilities besides a detailed statement of facts about the crises by the Govt to assure the people about the facilities to deal with emerging scenario including the non-functioning of gas plant, since there are reports of acute shortage of oxygen and other facilities. It is the duty of the Govt to take extra measures for the emerging situation ahead.
Referring to great hardships being faced by people regarding the large number of issuance of domicile during the ongoing COVID-19 threat, JKPCC chief said that Govt is not worried about the safety of people and has not conceeded the genuine request of the PRC holders, to treat the same as domicile to avoid threat to their lives due to coronavirus but Govt is adamant to line up people to put their lives to risk.
Mir said UT administration conducted back to village programmes disturbing the entire machinery and the people. He said that not a single work carried out and it is to accommodate the ruling party workers especially in those Panchayats where no elections could be held numbering over, 13000 seats.
He lashed out at non- restoration of 4G internet services causing lot of loss to the children and their career. He asked the govt not to play with the career and lives of children and questioned the arbitrary charging of tuition fee by private schools and Govt has failed to come to the rescue of JK students and their parents.
PCC vice president, Raman Bhalla, Sheikh Ghulam Haider, PCC general secretaries Manmohan Singh, Yogesh Sawhney Incharge DCC Urban Jammu, Shabir Ahmed Khan (Rajouiri), Hari Singh Chib (Jammu Rural), Ch Abdul Ghani (Poonch), Farooq Katoch (Ramban), Sheikh Mujeeb (Doda) were the prominent among those attended the meet.
