Srinagar, Mar 16: All India Confederation of SC, ST, OBC Organizations’ J&K Chapter today demanded the fulfilment of their demands that are lying pending for a long.
The members of the Confederation appeared in the Press Enclave and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
The members said that their organization has been highlighting certain demands but there has been no response from the Government.
“Our state president confederation had met ex-Governor, Satya Pal Malik, ex-LG G.C. Murmu as well as the LG Manoj Sinha to discuss these demands and these were considered as genuine demands, but there has been no further course of action in this regard,” President, J&K Chapter R.K. Kalsotra said.
He said that they demand the restoration of reservation in promotions respectively with retrospective effect from the year 2015. “We also demand clearance of the pending backlog of more than 1.04 lakh SC, ST, OBC with a special employment drive,” he said.
The members of the confederation said that they also demand the implementation of the Mandal Commission Report which recommends a 27% reservation for the OBC category with an OBC certificate instead of an OSC certificate. “Also, the reservation of SC, ST, OBC in the Excise Policy 2021-22 as reflected in the previous policy of 2020-21,” they said, while further demanding age relaxation of five years in the JKPSC CCE 2021 examination and other examination for SC/ST in correspondence with the national level.
They said that their organization is non-political and is working for the rights of SC, ST, OBC and Minorities of J&K for more than two decades.
“We have tabled our various demands in front of the erstwhile Governments as well as the current regime of Lieutenant Governors. Many of those demands were met but few are still lingering on with no investigation of any sorts,” they said.
