Conditions relaxed for relief to Kishtwar traders

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Oct 17: Beopar Mandal Kishtwar today said the conditions for payment of relief to the shopkeepers have been relaxed by Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Baseer Khan, which would lead to speedy disbursement of compensation to August 9 violence victims.
Beopar Mandal president Rakesh Gupta said the DC Kishtwar had exempted the production of VAT annual returns, Income Tax Returns etc for medium and big shopkeepers and majority of conditions for small shopkeepers.
Mr Gupta said the shopkeepers were now only required to give layout plan, an affidavit, balance sheet and bills of purchase to secure claims while small shopkeepers had to furnish Form `C’, affidavit and estimate of losses on a plain paper to take the claim.
The Beopar Mandal president hoped that with relaxation in conditions, the shopkeepers would be able to get the compensation at the earliest.
It may be mentioned here that traders of Kishtwar and the BJP had resented the conditions imposed on shopkeepers for taking relief due to damage caused to business establishments in August 9 violence.
