Concern over suspension of work on Rattle Project

KISHTWAR, Aug 5: The inhabitants of Kishtwar in general and youth in particular have shown their grave concern over the suspension of work on 850 mw Rattle Hydel Project by authorities for last one month and demanded immediate resumption of the same.
In a meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of Shamsher Singh Bhandari Congress leader and Member Kissan Board in which grave concern was expressed over the suspension of the work on the project due to a deadlock between the company and the various stake holders over the adjustment of local unemployed youth in the project.
Addressing the meeting, Mr Bhandari said that due to continuous deadlock, the employees working in the project are facing difficulties while at the same time, the unemployed youth eyeing for the job in the project were also in dilemma over their future job security.
He urged the GVR Limited and LNT management to immediately start work besides asked the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and Assistant Labour Commissioner to find out a way for early restoration of work on project.
He also urged the district administration to ensure the employment to local unemployed youth of Kishtwar district. He laid stress on peaceful means of dialogue for sorting out of all the issues without hampering the project work.
The meeting among others was addressed by local Congress leaders including Tilak Raj Shan and Farooq Ahmed Tappal.
