Concern over stopping of work on Rattle Project

KISHTWAR, Oct 11: The unemployed youth in Kishtwar during a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Shamsher Singh Bhandari Member of Kissan Development Board has expressed grave concern over the abandoning of the work on Ratlay Power Project by GVK Company rendering hundreds of unemployed youth of the three hilly districts of Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar jobless.
The meeting sought immediate intervention of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and MoS in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh who is MP from Doda-Kathua Lok Sabha seat asking them to impress upon the said company to start the work as its decision has rendered hundreds of youth of the area jobless.
Mr Bhandari said that the decision will also delay the timely completion of the project that in turn will hamper the development of the State which is already facing a power shortage and was dependent on other States for supply of power despite having lot of natural resources on its own.
The meting among others was addressed by Tilak Raj Shan and Farooq Ahmed Tapal.
