Concern over denial of RBA certificates to migrants

JAMMU, Sept 10: A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) was held here, today in which the problems of the displaced Pandits were discussed in detail.
The meeting was chaired by Shadi Lal Pandita president JTC and head of SKF. It expressed grave concern over denial of RBA certificates to those displaced Pandits who belonged to backward areas from the Valley and criticized the Government for defending its decision in this regard.
Mr Pandita said that there was no logic in non issuance of RBA certificates to members of RBA areas from Valley as the status of Pandits has decreased after their migration because they lost every thing movable or immovable.
He said when the Pandits are not allowed to vote in Jammu and they are considered the voters of Valley then what is the logic in denying RBA certificates to members of the community belonging the RBA areas from Valley. He accused the Government of applying two yardsticks only to deny their due rights to them.
He also demanded that the government should have given retrospective effect to the cash assistance from the day it was recommended by the State Government. The meeting also demanded implementation of PM’s employment package in letter and spirit, one placement settlement of KPs and improvement of water supply in Jagti township.
