RAJOURI, Feb 8: A mega and composite literary event was organized today in GDC Rajouri under the chairmanship of Dr JA Qazi, Principal of the college.
Kuldeep Raj Gupta, a senior citizen and a political stalwart of the district, was the chief guest whereas Nazir Qureshi of Surankote, an eminent scholar and writer, was the special guest. Dr Shamas Kamal Anjum, HoD Arabics, BGSBU and Shabaz Rajourvi were the guests of honour.
The event was presided over by Dr JA Qazi. Poets and fiction writers from various corners of the region participated in the event.
There were two sessions of the literary bonanza. In the first session, the fictions on various themes were read out to the audience while in the second session, the poetic recitation took place in which many renowned poets of the region as well as the students of GDC Rajouri made a display of great poetic acumen.
The literary bonanza was multi-lingual in which fiction and poetical compositions in various languages were recited.
Dr JA Qazi in his presidential address impressed upon the Academy of Art, Culture and Languages to encourage the regional language and literature through such literary devices.
Besides others, Iqbal Nazish, Dr Liaqat Nayer, Dr Abdul Haq Naini, Ghazala Khokhar, Dr MK Waqar, and Prof Iqbal Raina participated in the event.
The proceedings of the function were conducted by Dr Liaqat Nayer and Dr Abdul Haq Naini.
