JAMMU, Jan 21: Minister of State for Technical Education, Power, Rural Development and Information, Vikar Rasool today directed the officers to ensure the completion of Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyuti Karan Yojana (RGGVY) in Jammu in all respects by ending February.
The Minister was speaking at a review meeting of Power Development Department convened to discuss revenue realization and other matters.
The Minister asked the officers to ensure that RGGVY in Jammu is completed in all respects so that people get benefitted from the same. He said that the Government is committed to ensure electrification of the rural and far-flung areas so that the masses living there get the necessary power and other related things.
The Minister also directed the officers to ensure timely repair of the transformers, so that the people of those areas do not suffer. He said that an adequate mechanism should be put in place to ensure early repair and also maintain an inventory about the same.
Mr. Vikar also asked for the speeding up the revenue collection and in this regard an effective mechanism should be in place so that its collection shows an increase. He said the targets should be set and completed accordingly.
While asking the officers to ensure that the consumers get adequate supply of power during the winter months, the Minister directed for ensuring the implementation of curtailment programme so that the electric supply is properly regulated and every area gets the requisite amount of energy.
The Minister also reviewed the implementation of R-APDRP and directed the officers to speed up its implementation so that major towns of the State get benefitted from it.
Mr. Vikar also directed for the speedy implementation of HT/LT improvement scheme and asked for ensuring its early completion. He also asked for reducing T&D and AT&C losses so that the power loss is reduced to a large extent.
The Minister also reviewed the status of PMRP, implementation of plan 2013-14, REC schemes, CDRF, preparation of DPRs for RGGVY-II and other related things.
Principal Secretary Power, A. K. Mehta, Development Commissioner Power, Chief Engineers Power, EM&RE, C&S, S&O, P&D, P&MM, Jammu, Chief Engineer JKSPDC (RGGVY), General Manager NHPC, General Manager REC, Jammu, SEs, and xens of Jammu division were present in the meeting.
