VIJAYPUR, May 7: Senior leader of National Panthers Party and former minister, Yashpal Kundal today urged the government to compensate farmers whose standing crops have been destroyed in accidental fire.
In a handout, Kundal claimed that the victim farmers highlighted the problem of crop burning due to which they lost their six months ration and now they are dependent upon the compensation and ration from the government.
He said, the losses should be accessed by the authorities so that compensation as per market rate is given to the victim farmers.
The Panthers Party leader said, a team of experts should be sent to the affected villages to make accurate assessment of the losses suffered by the farmers in Vijaypur due to the fire.
“Ration and sugar should be provided to the affected families of farmers for their survival for next six months,” he maintained adding that many farmers have also lost fodder and there is nothing with them to feed their cattle.
The government should also provide free of cost fodder to farmers for their cattle and their electricity bills should be waived off by the authorities keeping in view their financial conditions.
