AIBCF questions working of SEBC Commission

JAMMU, May 7: All India Backward Classes Federation (AIBCF) J&K unit, has alleged that the working of Socially & Educationally Backward Classes Commission (SEBCC) was very slow and Commission has done nothing for the OBCs so far.
In a virtual conference of the AIBCF organized under the chairmanship of FC Satia, president of the Federation (J&K Unit) here today, the speakers expressed dismay over very slow working of the Socially & Educationally Backward Classes Commission (SEBCC) in J&K UT. They alleged that Commission has done nothing so far for the Other Backward Classes of J&K UT.
They pointed out that Commission’s term is going to be over but its report is still not ready. This is depriving OBCs of the J&K of their legitimate rights.
The Federation members said that Govt had promised at the time of conversion of J&K state into a Union Territory in 2019, as stated by Minister for Home and Prime Minister of the country that OBCs of J&K shall get the same benefits, as their counterparts are getting in the rest of country but nothing like that has happened till date.
Instead of giving due rights to J&K OBCs, UT Govt enacted a new Commission for studying the case. The Commission has taken one and half year but no result has come out. It appears that Commission also wants to adopt the delay tactice on the behest of the Union Govt to deprive the OBCs of the J&K UT of their legitimate right.
The Federation strongly appealed the Commission to expedite the report on findings and recommendations and submit the same to Govt for early implementation. Already J&K state subjects have suffered a lot due to Article 370.
