POONCH, June 5: In the age of development and progress, border village Degwar in Poonch which has been adopted by the Poonch Army, saw the foundation stone being laid for a Community Hall by the ‘Residents of Degwar’ under the Border Area Development Project Scheme.
This important milestone in the path of village Degwar’s transformation was graced by Commander, Poonch Army and Deputy Commissioner, Poonch. Degwar is a border area village of Poonch District which is being transformed by Army. Army at Garhi is playing a pivotal role in this process by undertaking numerous other development projects and activities for the local populace here.
Apart from the Sarpanchs and Nambardars, a large number of military and civil dignitaries were also present on the inauguration ceremony of Community Hall.
d BDO gave away 20 cheques of Rs 12,000/- each to the villagers of Degwar-Bagialdhara who had constructed toilets under “Swachh Bharat Mission”. Speaking on the occasion Deputy Commissioner, asked the villagers to have at least one toilet per house and take the benefit of the Govt scheme under the Swachh Bharat Campaign.
