JAMMU, Apr 10: In order to expedite the construction of Ans Irrigation Canal in Rajouri district, the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today sanctioned Rs. 5.61 crore to meet the enhanced cost of the project.
Mufti Sayeed sanctioned the State Government’s commitment for the revised cost which was necessitated due to cost escalation in a meeting with the Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Ch. Sukhnandan Kumar and Minister for CA&PD, Ch. Zulfkar.
The construction of the Ans Canal is expected to boost the agriculture sector in Rajouri district by bringing in huge tracts of unirrigated land under its ambit.
