CM for immediate assessment of losses to apricot in Kargil

JAMMU, Apr 23: Following untimely snowfall in Kargil, the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today issued immediate directions to the Relief & Rehabilitation Department to start assessment of damages caused to standing apricot fruit so that the affected farmers are adequately compensated.
Kargil town has experienced unseasonal snowfall that has severely affected the apricot crop in the district.
As a follow up to the Chief Minister’s direction, Minister for Relief & Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari has directed the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Gazzanfar Hussain, to get the assessment of the losses suffered by the fruit growers of Kargil completed expeditiously.
