Clear OBC quota status in J&K: Cong to BJP

JAMMU, Sept 8: Chairman OBC Department (Cell) of Pradesh Congress, Suresh Dogra has urged upon the BJP led Central Govt to clear the status of OBC reservation in the Jammu and Kashmir with the creation of UT.
In a meeting of the OBC Deptt of Pradesh Congress Committee here today, the members discussed various issues related to the welfare of the community and also with regard to detention of political leaders. All the District Chairmen of the Jammu Province of OBC Cell were present in the meeting.
Addressing the members Dogra said, ” We are in the continuous struggle for the rights of OBC people for their upliftment and fulfillment of their constitutional and legal rights. The Central Government by the way of publications in the newspapers is showing inclination towards OBC peoples of J&K but not clarified the actual position for the enhancement of reservation and OBC status for the J&K backward Classes after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A. It is still in chaos and confusion. The Government must clear the status,” Dogra said.
“We have many times requested the Government to remove the undue restrictions imposed on our main stream leaders as they are undemocratically and illegally house arrested which caused a major hurdles for the party working and communication between party workers and leaders. He said PCC president Ghulam Ahmed Mir and vice president Raman Bhalla are still under illegal detention. We had a meeting with Inspector General of Police Mukesh Singh as well as Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma over this issue but no outcome has been seen even after their assurance.
He urged upon the Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene into the matter. Other members Parshotam Lal Mehra (VC), Prabodh Jasyal (VC), Vijay Verma ( Gen-Secy), Abhishek Kumar ( Media Coordinator ), Raj Kumar Mehra, Bhoj Raj also spoke on the occasion.
