Class 11th student killed in road mishap

JAMMU, Sept 25: A student of Class 11th died today in a road mishap in Jourian area of city outskirts.
“Deepak son of Tarsem, resident of Padli (Khour) along with his two friends were going on a bike bearing registration number JK02CA-3054 when a speeding truck (registration number JK08A-9838) hit their bike in Jourian area this afternoon”, a police official said.
He said in the mishap, Tarsem was killed on the spot while other two boys namely Raman son of Krishan Singh and Gourav Sharma son of Kewal Krishen, received minor injuries. After completing all medico-legal formalities at SDH Akhnoor, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while injured boys were discharged after providing first-aid.
In this connection, a case under relevant sections was registered at police station Akhnoor and investigations started. Both the vehicles in the mishap were also seized.
