Accused convicted in NDPS case

JAMMU, Sept 25: Principal Sessions Judge Samba RK wattal today convicted an accused under NDPS Act and imposed fine of Rs 10,000.
According to Public Prosecutor Samba Bhupinder Singh Charak ,the accused namely Surjeet Singh, son of Gurmail Dass of Koulpur Ramgarh was booked under FIR number 55 /2011, under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act at Police Station Ramgarh after intoxicant capsules were recovered from his possession.
“There are sufficient evidences connecting the accused with crime. Thus prosecution has been able to prove the case by clear and sufficient evidences under Section 8 (iii) of NDPS Act punishable under Section 21 of the Act and accordingly the accused is held guilty and convicted”, the court said.
“In view of the fact that accused is a drug consumer and not a trader, he is directed to be released on furnishing surety bond of Rs 25000 for maintaining the good behaviour for 6 months. If he repeats the offence, he will be called upon by the court to pay fine and suffer the imprisonment in default”, the court said.
