Srinagar Apr 22: The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Budgam today reserved order on bail application filed by Hurriyat (G) leader and Muslim League chairman Masrat Alam Bhat.
Masrat, Syed Ali Shah Geelani and five other leaders are facing several charges including waging war against country and sedition.
The other leaders who have been booked are Ayaz Akbar, Mehraj-ud-Din Kalwal, Bashir Ahmad alias Peer Saifullah, Zahoor Ahmad Kanna and Javid Ahmad Najar.
The order was reserved by Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Budgam, Kamlesh Pandita after hearing arguments from both sides.
“The argument on bail was conducted today. The prosecution contested the bail application. We said the sloganeering and raising flags is no offence. We presented our argument in the light of law and told the court that it is legal right of our client to get the bail,” Alam’s lawyer, Advocate Shabir Ahmad Bhat said.
