CJM awards 2-yrs imprisonment for rash driving

SRINAGAR, Apr 20:The Chief Judicial Magistrate Budgam has convicted one Bashir Ahmad Dar for two years imprisonment and imposed Rs 2000 as fine for rash and negligent driving, which led to death of a person a decade ago.
A case was registered against Dar in Police Station Budgam (FIR No. 360/2004 Under Section 304-A RPC) for causing death of one Abdul Rashid due to rash driving.
The court while passing the judgment held: “It has been proved before that the accused was driving the vehicle rashly and negligently and hit the scooter and one person Abdul Rashid died on spot. The documents annexed with the file show that the deceased died on spot.  So the death of the deceased was direct result of the rash and negligent driving of the driver.”
