Civilian hurt in mine blast

JAMMU, Jan 18: A civilian was today injured in a mine blast in forward village of Sariya in Janghar area of Nowshera sector in Rajouri district when he accidentally stepped over landmine while grazing his cattle.
The injured has been identified as Sewa Ram, 35, son of Swaran Dass, a resident of village Sariya.
Reports said the civilian was grazing cattle near the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera sector when he stepped over a mine, leading to a blast in which he was seriously injured in right foot, heel and ankle at 12 noon today.
The injured was immediately evacuated from the site of blast and shifted to the hospital. Police parties visited the spot for investigations.
