Civil Services Institute for officers inaugurated

Divisional Commissioner Shantmanu & DCC Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary inaugurating Civil Services Institute at Reasi on Wednesday.

REASI, Nov 13: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu and District Development Commissioner Reasi, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today inaugurated Civil Services Institute for the officers of the district administration.
The Institute having library, gymnasium, indoor sports complex, outdoor sports, lounge, internet cafe, library, pantry, coffee shop and other facilities was completed in six months. The CSI is a registered Society with DDC as its president.
The first of its kind initiative was taken to foster interpersonal relations between officers of various departments for an impressive teamwork to ensure quick and better public service delivery. Accommodation for officers is being taken up in Phase-II. The Institute is also designed to serve as a platform for knowledge exchange and information sharing on day to day basis.
Divisional Commissioner took a round of indoor and outdoor sports facilities and the gymnasium. He was apprised about the library having more than 2000 books, internet hub and recreational facilities. Shantmanu expressing happiness about the institution informed that he would request Chief Minister and Chief Secretary for replicating this model in all districts and strengthening the CSI established at Reasi. He assured all possible help for its expansion.
He lauded the exemplary efforts put in by the district administration for coming up with this out-of-the-box idea to create all facilities under one roof for officers  posted in remote areas, and their families, which will go a long way in strengthening the way administration is working.
On the occasion, founder president of CSI, Dr Shahid Iqbal dwelt on the motto behind the initiative for shaping a stronger administrative team for the district working in a cohesive way based on informal relations.
District Officers in their informal interaction with the Divisional Commissioner affirmed their commitment to work with a stronger zeal and enthusiasm utilizing this much-needed facility created for them. The DDC expressed gratitude to the Minister for Revenue Ajaz Ahmed Khan, MLA Reasi Baldev Raj Sharma and MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma for supporting the infrastructure development through their Constituency Development Fund.
Inaugural ceremony ended with message of Governor N N Vohra, who has complimented the efforts of DDC.
SSP Sharief Chouhan, ADC Rajinder Singh, ACR Tilak Raj, ACD Joginder Singh, district officers of all departments attended the function. ACR presented vote of thanks.
