JAMMU, July 30: CII J&K Council organized workshop on Energy Efficient Systems for industry.
In his welcome address, Rahul Sahai, convenor, MSME & Manufacturing Competitiv-eness Panel, CII J&K Council & Managing Director, Sahai Group of Industries said that CII has been continuously working towards its mission on strengthening the industry through its various activities with the help of its Centers of Excellence (CoEs) helping SMEs transform their business processes.
He said that Energy Efficiency is one of the key areas where CII Cluster approach helps industry enhance their competitiveness by Identification of avoidable energy losses, quantification of losses, recommendations for minimizing/eliminating the identified losses, monitoring support in implementation, training & guideline for Implementation and vendor identification.
Sahai said that the Indian Industry can grow and survive only by becoming more competitive. “We obviously cannot wait for a solution until we end up in a crisis – hence it is high time that we begin contemplating on matters such as ‘how to meet your energy needs’, ‘the role of renewable and alternative sources’, ‘addressing the threat of climate change’, ‘accelerating energy conservation efforts’ and implementing new strategies to judiciously utilize and manage the available resources by using energy efficient technologies and learning from the best practices.
The objectives of the workshop were to develop knowledge on techniques for effective energy management at design stage, provide information on latest energy saving designs on various energy intensive equipment, reduce the operational cost of organization, develop participants on self-energy auditing techniques through actual implemented case studies, etc.
The workshop was conducted by Manpreet Singh and Khalid Khan, Counselor at CII Avantha Center of Competitiveness, Chandigarh. The workshop was attended by participants from Samba, Gangyal and Bari-Brahmana Industrial Area.
