NEW DELHI: The ‘Central Institute of Buddhist Studies (CIBS)’ at Leh in J&K, has been declared a deemed-to-be-university, provisionally, for a period of five years, the HRD ministry said.
As per an official statement released here, the Institute has been declared a deemed-to-be-university on the advice of the UGC under the de novo category from the date it disaffiliates itself for its courses from Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, and Tibetan Medicines and Astrology Department, Dharamsala.
The declaration of CIBS as deemed-to-be-university shall be confirmed after five years on the basis of five successive annual performance reports of UGC Expert Committees. (AGENCIES)
