JAMMU Aug 23: Today on Tuesday at Gole Puli, Kisan Kendra by Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan Basohli in association with Shankaracharya Swami Adhokshajanand Dev Teertha Ji Maharaj in collaboration with Mahavir Seva Sadan Kolkata and prosthetics and orthotics specialist of Abha Bagrodia Charitable Trust Kolkata measured the limbs of people affected by polio and those who lost their legs due to diabetes, accidents etc.
KK Sharma, Agriculture Director Jammu, was specially present on this occasion. During this, he said that many times the obstacles of the body stop the moving steps in life, the mind also stops. Artificial hands and feet will give courage to such people who have lost their hands or feet due to any accident, injury, congenital deformity or serious diseases. He said that Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan Basohli has taken a big initiative to empower the differently-abled.
Dr. Sanjay Sharma and Dr. Vikas Padha, members of Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan Basohli, said that the experts of the registered divyans in the camp will measure and prepare artificial legs of that size right here. With the implantation of artificial limbs, the disabled will be able to walk. Persons with disabilities can write, eat with a spoon, ride a bike, car or bicycle, lift things, etc. There is no need for any kind of operation to put the hands and feet. These hands are like a wrist watch , they can be put or opened at any time.
Shakti Pathak, Director of Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan Basohli, said that the target is to install artificial legs and arms to 150 to 200 beneficiaries. So far 90 beneficiaries have been registered. On August 24, Kisan Kendra, Gole Puli Gole Puli Talab Tillon (near the office of Agriculture Department, Jammu) and on August 25, Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan Basohli for the differently-abled of Kathua and Basohli would take measurements of artificial limbs and find out other requirements. The timing of measurement will be from 9 am to 5 pm.
Mahant Rohit Shastri, member of the institute, said that the experts of the disabled registered in the camp will measure and prepare an artificial leg of that size right here. After this, on Saturday 17th September at 10 am, artificial limbs will be distributed in Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan Basohli and Kisan Kendra, Gole Puli Talab Tillon (near the office of Agriculture Department, Jammu).
