JAMMU, Nov 15: Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, senior BJP and Kashmiri Pandit leader and Incharge Department of Political Affairs and Feedback, J&K-BJP has snubbed the Kashmir centric separatist and other so called main stream leaders asking India to hold dialogue with Pakistan on Kashmir.
Taking serious note of the statements of Hurriyat leader, Moulvi Umer Farooq and PDP chief, Mehbooba Mufti in this regard Chrungoo said terror and talks won’t go together. “It is an established national diplomatic and political doctrine of India that has its genesis in the agreements which were signed by India and Pakistan some more than a decade ago. Pakistan assured India that it won’t allow the land under its control to be used for terrorism against India, but it has failed to keep its promise all along till date”, he added.
“Those in the separatist camp or in the so-called mainstream politics in Kashmir including their top leaders need to know that the dialogue narrative regarding Pakistan has acquired complete absurdity due to the behavior, role and support to terrorism by Pakistan. It is useless to use such a rhetoric just to keep a small section of populace in good humour”, Chrungoo said.
There is no case for any sort of “settlement of dispute” in regard to the Jammu and Kashmir since Kashmir is a settled issue as per the Instrument of Accession, Shimla Agreement and the Unanimous Parliamentary Resolution of 1994 on J&K. The resolution however, emphasizes upon the liberation of Pakistan occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK) and the other areas like Gilgit and Baltistan which are under the illegal occupation of Pakistan since 1947-48.
Chrungoo said, “the leaders of the Gupkar Gang have lost their ground in the Kashmir valley and they are continuously trying to provoke the people of Jammu and Ladakh regions against the Government notwithstanding the role played by the Jammu region for the complete integration of the erstwhile State with the rest of India. Their tantrums recently in Jammu have left no impact in the Jammu region despite their stay put. Instead these leaders were compelled by their party cadres to take part in the ensuing DDC elections contrary to their earlier stand, in which they said that the elections are not their ‘immediate priority’ in their struggle for restoration of the so-called special status”.
